Traveling by bicycle or trail running shoes allows me to get off the beaten track and discover places that I would never have seen otherwise. Racing the length of Africa, a solo unsupported expedition down the Andes deep into Patagonia, ultra distance trails in the jungles of Borneo or over volcanoes rising thousands of metres from the Indian Ocean – its never about the cycling or running – its about experiencing new places, people and limits. And there is so much still to be done. I try to capture some of these adventures on my blog.

I am Jethro De Decker, you can find me on Instagram (@JethroDD) or get in touch directly at jdedecker@gmail.com. Follow this blog to get notifications when I add new posts.

Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things that you didn’t do than by the ones you did do.
So throw off the bowlines.
Sail away from the safe harbor.
Catch the trade winds in your sails.
